Buzios, where citizens of Rio go to really cut loose!

Buzios was a lazy fishing village until it was made famous by a French actress, Brigitte Bardot, who spent a summer there in 1964 with her Brazilian boyfriend. Bardot’s legacy has transformed Búzios into a resort town:
Bardot visit is marked with a bronze statue sitting on a seafront bench that memorializes the actress like a Buzios version of Eva Peron.

Buzios is located 105 miles northeast of Rio de Janeiro, With a population of 25,000 is the haunt of the rich and famous of the world who flock to the city to enjoy the 24 or so beaches in the vicinity
the town comes to life like a Brazilian Hamptons, with seaside eateries, bass-booming nightclubs and a sexy beach scene that thrives during January and February’s high season.

The west coast beaches offer calm, clear waters while the east coast ones, facing the open sea, are a little wilder and draw the surfers and water sports enthusiasts. Among the most popular beaches are Azeda Beach, Joao Fernandinho Beach with several bars and known for its seafood, Ferradura Beach, and Geriba beach, popular for surfing.
